February 24, 2020: The West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WEBSCTE) has announced the dates for the West Bengal VOCLET Exam for admission to polytechnic courses in engineering, technology, and architecture available at different colleges and institutes in the state of West Bengal. The WBVOCLET will be conducted on the 6th of May 2020. The VOCLET result 2020 for the exam are expected on the in May 2020 as the official notification released.
The WB VOCLET will be held simultaneously in 22 districts across the state of West Bengal including Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Murshidabad, Purulia, Malda, and others. The only reason the number of centres may change is if the number of students appearing for the exam are lesser than expected.The WBVOCLET is an objective-style paper which tests the aptitude of students in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics and Computer. There are two papers of two hours each that the students have to appear for. Paper one tests students on Mathematics (50 marks), Physics (25 marks), and Chemistry (25 marks). Paper two tests students on Mechanics and Computer scoring them out of 50 marks each. The exam is to be conducted in the first week of May on 6th and the tentative VOCLET result date 2020 as released by the WEBSCTE in May 2020.
WBVOCLET 2020 Eligibility and Syllabus
Students appearing for WB VOCLET 2020 and looking forward to the WB VOCLET results 2020 need to meet the eligibility criteria detailed here. Indian citizens who have passed or appeared for the 10+2 examination or an equivalent from a recognized board can appear for the WB VOCLET 2020. The candidates who have appeared for ITI are not eligible for VOCLET 2020. ITI trades must be of continuous duration of 2 years which should be mentioned in a single certificate. To appear for WB VOCLET 2020, there is no age limit.
As mentioned earlier, the WBVOCLET exam comprises papers on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Fundamentals of Mechanics, and Computer Application. The detailed syllabus for the same are mentioned below.
Mathematics: Laws of Indices, Complex Numbers, Sequence And Series, Quadratic Equations, Matrix. Determinant, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate system, Calculus, Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Definite integral, Differential equation, Vector
Physics: Units of measurement; Dimension of physical quantities, Motion in a straight line; de¿ nitions, Graphical analysis. Equations of motions. Scalar and vector quantities, Scalar and vector products of vectors. Frame of reference Newton’s laws. Law of conservation of linear momentum. Friction, Uniform circular motion; vehicle on level circular road / banked road. Work, Energy & Power. Centre of mass, Moment / angular momentum, Problems. Moment of inertia and radius of gyration. Law of gravitation. Gravitational potential, Kepler’s laws of planetary motion, geo-stationary satellite. Elastic behaviour, Hooke’s law; Young modules, bulk modulus, shear modulus of rigidity, Poison’s ratio; elastic energy. Pascal’s law and its application. Thermal physics –thermal expansion; ideal gas laws, isothermal and adiabatic processes; anomalous expansion calorimetry, Cp, Cv. Heat transfer, Newton’s law of cooling, thermal conductivity. Thermal equilibrium, zeroth law / First law of thermodynamics. Equation of state of a perfect gas, Kinetic theory of gases. Periodic motion, Simple harmonic motion [SHM]; Simple pendulum, free, damped and forced vibration, resonance.

How to Check WBVOCLET 2020 Results
Every year, thousands of candidates sit for the WB VOCLET exams across West Bengal. In 2017, 13,176 students appeared for the WB VOCLET exam conducted on 7th May, 2017. The WBSCTE VOCLET result 2017 was released on the 19th of May 2017 on the official website, webscte.co.in and this website, www.examresults.net. WBVOCLET this year is to be conducted on May 6, 2020. The VOCLET exam result 2020 are to be declared (tentatively) on 18th May 2020 as that is the VOCLET result date 2020 as mentioned on the official website. The basic steps to check the WBVOCLET result 2020 are:
- Log onto examresults.net
- Type the desired state name, for example, examresults.net/wb/.
- Look for the desired button, for example the button that says WBVOCLET Results Click Here.
- Click on the link and fill in your details, including Enrolment Number and Name to get your WB VOCLET Result 2020.
Candidates can check their WBSCTE VOCLET result and take a printout of the same for the further admission procedure. The post-result counselling for WBVOCLET 2020 is slated to be conducted in June 2020. Detailed information regarding counselling will be available on the WEBSCTE website. The counselling begins only once the merit list is announced after they get their WB VOCLET 2020 result ranking. Admission can be cancelled if the student fails to produce original documents supporting their qualification for verification.

About West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WEBSCTE)
The Polytechnic Education in West Bengal was introduced immediately after independence. To look after the academic activities of polytechnic education, ‘State Council for Engineering & Technical Education’ was set-up as a Government outfit by an executive order. The Council was a part of the Chief Inspectorate of Technical Education and subsequently of the Directorate of Technical Education. West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development were formed as a Statutory Body under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 2013.
The West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development (Technical Education Division) has various activities for conducting a number of courses at Diploma, Post Diploma, Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Short Term Vocational Training, Commercial Education level besides monitoring and affiliating the academic institutions conducting these courses and development of curricula for the purpose. The Council also advises Government in respect of Technical Education for the areas mentioned above. Apart from aforesaid activities, the Council also conducts entrance examination and prepares merit lists for admission of students to Diploma Courses in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy etc. in the Polytechnics of the State under its affiliation through Entrance Examinations like JEXPO and VOCLET.
