CGBSE Board too Opts for Internal Assessment, Cancels Pending Board Exams


May 14, 2020: In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus cases and due to the subsequent lockdown declared in the nation, the CGBSE board exams for a few minor subjects in class 10 such as Geography and a few optional subjects for class 12 had to be deferred abruptly marks, the Board will assign marks for these cancelled subjects.


In addition, the Chairman of the Board of Management of the CG also suggested that students who have failed or have been unable to participate in the internal evaluation test should obtain minimum pass marks in order to help clear the exams of certain subjects. In short nobody will be failing the pending board exams. When the lockdown is lifted, the assessment process for the evaluations of the board examinations is likely to commence. Tentatively, it can be surmised the CGBSE board exam results 2020 can be expected by August 2020.

The Board had previously agreed to conduct the pending exams from 4 May to 8 May 2020. However, these exams were postponed until further notice in the notice published by the Board on 30 April. Once Lockdown 2.0 was lifted, i.e., a decision was taken on the remaining board examination, on the 3rd of May, 2020.


In the CGBSE Exam 2020 Board, this year there were nearly two lakh seventy thousand candidates. We hope best of luck to all the candidates awaiting their CGBSE Class 10th result 2020 and CGBSE Class 12th result 2020.
