CBSE 2020 Exam Updates: Paper Evaluation to Begin after Lockdown Lifts

April 24, 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that the new board exam datesheet 2020 will be updated shortly. The evaluation of the completed examinations will commence a few days post the lifting of the nation-wide lockdown. The Board has also hinted that the number of examiners will be increased to help complete the evaluation process faster.

The CBSE exam controller, Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, has announced that the pending CBSE board examinations will be conducted after the lockdown is lifted. This was decided in a virtual meeting with 100+ CBSE board school Principals. Some of the key decisions made include-


  • The CBSE will begin the exam evaluation process 4 days after the nation-wide lockdown is lifted
  • The pending examinations will be conducted by CBSE post the lockdown
  • The timetable for the pending exams will be published soon by the Central Board of Secondary Education after approval from the MHRD Ministry
  • A pending examination might even be conducted on a Sunday, if necessary, in order to complete the examinations as soon as possible
  • No more than 10 students/candidates will be present in a classroom for completing their exams, in order to follow social distancing norms
  • The syllabus for Class 1 to Class 8 may be reduced
  • Online classes will be conducted with mandatory 75% attendance
