April 02, 2020: As a result of pandemic COVID-19 outbreak, several national level exams were postponed, rescheduled or delayed, you can check out the list of exams put off due to Coronavirus here. Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE board has made decision regarding the board exams that 29 out of 41 papers will be conducted for CBSE class 12th students. As for CBSE class 10th (except North East Delhi region) exams will not be rescheduled as the main subjects had been concluded before the Lockdown.

HRD Minister Pokhriyal stated through social media platform Twitter that the 29 main subjects will suffice for promotion or university/college applications or further higher education. Following mentioned was tweeted by the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal - "I have advised @cbseindia29 to conduct board examinations only for 29 main subjects that are required for promotion & maybe crucial for admissions in HEIs."

Considering the current circumstances, the CBSE board has not declared the fresh dates or CBSE rescheduled timetable 2020. The board has informed that CBSE 10th class 2020 (North East Delhi region) and CBSE 12th class 2020 reschedule examination dates will be announced at least 10 days in advance.

Furthermore, a new board exam evaluation and score pattern keeping the 29 subjects in mind will be declared by the CBSE board officials soon. Also, due to lockdown and academic activities suspension, the board has made a decision to not conduct or reschedule CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th class exams 2020 outside India.

The Board has also decided to promote all the students from class/grade 1 to class 8th to ensuing or following grades. As for class 9th and class 11th CBSE students, an evaluation process specific to school-assessment system will be set which includes projects, periodic tests, term examination, etc. based on which students will be promoted to the subsequent classes accordingly.
