MHRD Confirms, Board & Entrance Exams to be Held After Lockdown



April 29, 2020: Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Minister of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) recently conducted an online/LIVE session for students and parents across India. He discussed and provided insights on the statuses of exams that are pending due to novel Coronavirus. Through the LIVE session that was watched by over 20,000 individuals in India he informed that the education of students will not be affected due to the Lockdown.


COVID-19 resulted in nationwide lockdown affecting interschool exams, class 10th and 12th board exams, university and entrance exams such as JEE Main, NEET, etc. The distressed situation has caused many students to worry about the results and exams. However, through the LIVE session the MHRD Union Minister has informed that students will be informed at least 10 days before the remaining board exams will take place.

Moreover, many state boards have taken a step to promote students from Class 1st to Class 9th to preceding grades. Online classes are being conducted to keep students equipped with their syllabuses.

The Union Minister of HRD also advised parents to urge their children to actively practice “yoga” and keep them equipped by indulging and stress relieving activities. He also said that students can make use of the e-learning portal DIKSHA and explore over 80 thousand study materials for educational preparation.
