Karnataka SSLC exam 2018: registration process goes digital
8 February, 2018: With the Karnataka Board SSLC exams starting from 23 March, the Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board (KSEEB) have started to update the student details in Digital mode through a Student Tracking System (STS) instead of the manual mode that was followed earlier. For this, students have to register at sts.karnataka.gov.in. The STS was implemented by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Karnataka (SSA Karnataka) to record details of over 1 crore children across the state. The SSA Karnataka started this online registration process to help government avoid duplicate document submission and to stop fraudulent businessmen from opening schools.
The Student Tracking System developed in association with Infosys Foundation is aimed at monitoring the academic progress, dropout rate and other aspects of about 45 lakhs students from classes One to 10 in all government schools. Each student will be assigned a unique identification number through which progress will be monitored to improve the academic performance of the students and prevent dropouts
