GUJCET Exams 2018: GUJCET 2018 results released today on 10 May, 2018

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) have declared the results Gujarat Common Entrance Test GUJCET 2018 examinations today. The results are available on the official website, http://www.gujcet.gseb.org/. Due to heavy traffic the official website of the board may be unresponsive. The students can check their results here. After the examination concluded on Monday, April 23, GHSEB chairman A J Shah had announced that the answer keys would be uploaded in a day or two. The answer keys of the Gujarat Common Entrance Test GUJCET 2018 examinations were released at gujcet.gseb.org. This year over 1.34 lakh candidates had appeared for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) examinations at 34 centres across the state of Gujarat.

Out of the total who registered for the exams, nearly 300 candidates appeared for all four exams of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, for admissions to colleges in Gujarat providing engineering and medical courses. In the first session constituting of Physics and Chemistry, 134,900 students appeared for the exam out of a total of 136,393 applications. Around 61,645 out of 62,307 candidates appeared for the second session of the test, which was Mathematics. In the third session, which was Biology, out of the 73,737815 registered candidates, only 72,955 appeared for the exam.

The GUJCET 2018 results for the GUJCET 2018 which was conducted on 23 April, 2018 in three sessions. The following table shows the gender-wise bifurcation of the students who registered and appeared.

The GUJCET 2018 also released the percentile-wise table for the students who appeared for the GUJCET 2018.

The GUJCET merit list 2018 will be based on based on merit wherein 60% weightage will be given to marks scored in four semesters and 40% to GUJCET percentile marks. Students will be called for centralized counselling session based on their ranking in the GUJCET merit list 2018.

The state government did away with the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) which was introduced in June 2013, with the previously held Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET), from the academic year 2016-2017 for students in Gujarat through a notification issued last year. The students will gain admissions to engineering and pharmacy courses based on merit wherein 60% weightage will be given to marks scored in four semesters and 40% to GUJCET percentile marks.

The GUJCET eligibility criteria states that students who have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised board/institution can appear for the test. They need to secure a minimum of 45 per cent marks to apply for the GUJCET 2018 exam (40 per cent marks for reserved category candidates). The exam pattern consists of only multiple-choice questions will be asked in the exam. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
