CBSE-affiliated Schools Not Releasing Admit Card in Instances, CBSE Issues Advisory

CBSE Exams 2018
26 February, 2018: Just a week before the board exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) starts on March 5, 2018, it has come to light that several CBSE-affiliated schools have been withholding the issuance of admit cards on the grounds of performance of students in their prelims. There have also be reports of schools charging a fee for the release of admit cards.

The CBSE has issued an advisory strictly condemning this practice. As per rule 15 of the Examination Bye-Laws regarding the Detaining of Eligible Candidates, "In no case the Heads of affiliated schools shall detain eligible candidates from appearing at the examination."

This practice of withholding admit cards becomes even more serious when one considers the fact that CBSE issues admit cards only to those candidates that are in the finalized list of candidates of classes X and XII as sent by the school.

The CBSE class X and XII exams are scheduled to begin on the 5 of March 2018 and the results for both classes are expected to be out in May 208.
