03rd March 2017: The Marathi question paper (paper code - 02) of Maharashtra's HSC 2017 exam was found to be circulating on Whatsapp minutes before the exam was supposed to begin yesterday, 2 March, 2017. Certain students had allegedly shared photographs of the HSC Marathi question paper, around 10.20 a.m. while students are expected to enter the exam hall by 10.30 a.m. and start answering the question paper at 11 a.m.

The leak came into light when the faculty of a coaching centre forwarded these images to a leading newspaper. The faculty member had received the Marathi question paper's photographs on his phone at 10.46 am from an IT student who was not appearing for the Marathi paper.

Marathi is an optional second language 100-mark paper which was being attempted by more than 8,00,000 students across Maharashtra. This is, in fact the third year in a row that a Mah HSC question paper is being leaked. In the previous two years, the Book-keeping & Accountancy question papers have been leaked.

The Maharashtra Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams that began this week on 28 February, 2017 with the English paper (01), will go on till 25 March, 2017.

9,143 junior colleges across Maharashtra are participating in the Maharashtra HSC exams 2017 that will be conducted in 2,710 exam centres spread throughout the state.

The Maharashtra Board HSC Results 2017 are expected to be announced by the last week of May, 2017 keeping in mind last year's Maharashtra HSC result date which was 25 May.
