JKBOSE board exams 2018: JKBOSE Class 12 Exams start tomorrow

22 February, 2018: The JKBOSE Class 12 exams 2018 for Class 12 are going to begin tomorrow on 23 February, 2018. The JKBOSE Class 12 exams will be held over a month long duration and the exams are slated to end on 23 March, 2018. The JKBOSE Class 10 exams are also around the corner. The JKBOSE Class 10 exams begin on the 26th of February, 2018 and the exams end on the 17th March, 2018.

The government has undertaken stringent measures and made coordinated arrangements to ensure the fair conduct of board exams for Class 10 and class 12 annual for summer zone (Jammu) and Bi-annual for the winter zone (Kashmir Valley and areas of Jammu region). The annual examinations for the summer zone are starting from 23 February for Class 12 and from 26 February for Class 10 for Jammu Division. For Kashmir Division the exams begin on 06 March for Class 10 and 26 February for Class 12.

The exams are being conducted by the JKBOSE which involves the Education Department, and the local civil and police administration.

The information was declared at a high-level review meeting chaired by the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and co-chaired by Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi an official circular read.

Secretary of School Education, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Shah, Chairperson of JKBOSE Prof Veena Pandita, senior functionaries of BOSE, Education Department, civil and police functionaries were present at the meeting, some of them virtually through the medium of video conference.

Education minister said that according to the past practice, section 144 will be imposed within certain areas around the examination centres with adequate police deployment, while special identity cards would be issued to the supervision staff to ensure that the examinees are thoroughly checked prior to their entry in the exam hall.

As an additional measure to minimise malpractices, the classes in the school hosting the exams, acting as exam centres would remain suspended on the exam days. However, in winter zone all such schools would function normally as the exams in these areas will be held in the afternoon, the circular read.

The education minister said that there would be zero tolerance for unfair means and strict action would be taken against both the examinees and outsiders for encouraging unethical practices. He said that the state of J&K has an unblemished record regarding the conduct of exams and the attempt to degrade the system would not be tolerated at any cost.

Citing an incident wherein the special squad team came under attack during an inspection visit last year, he said the government has decided to withdraw the centre from the area and initiated legal action against the perpetrators to send a clear message that such acts would not be tolerated.

Calling upon the board to take all measures for the fair conduct of exams, Priya Sethi asked the BOSE authorities to revise the invigilation and other supervisory staff. She also demanded for issuing special I-cards to the exam supervisory staff to keep the unhealthy elements away from the examination centre premises, read the handout further.

Secretary School Education asked the JKBOSE authorities to ensure timely supply of examination papers and stationary to far flung areas.

JKBOSE will hire helicopter service if required to deliver examination material in snow covered areas, should the need arise, the circular read.
