GUJCET 2018: Admit Cards Released


The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) released the admit card for the state level entrance test GUJCET 2018 on 17th April 2018 on its official website. The last day for the registration for GUJCET 2018 was April 7, 2018. The GUJCET 2018 GSHSEB will be conducted by GSHSEB will on 23rd April, 2018. The candidates can download their admit cards from the official website, gujcet.gseb.org. The candidates are to carry their admit cards on the day of the exam with a valid identification proof. The GUJCET 2018 results are expected to be declared either in May end or June. The GUJCET is conducted by the GSHSEB to screen candidates for admissions into engineering, degree, diploma, and pharmacy courses in government-aided, government, and self-finance institutes of Gujarat.

The examination will be conducted in Gujarati, Hindi and English medium. The medium is to be selected during filling out the online application, the date for which will be declared later. Also once the application has been submitted no further changes will be entertained. The state government has done away with the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) which was introduced in June 2013, with the previously held Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET), from the academic year 2016-2017 for students in Gujarat through a notification issued last year. The students will gain admissions to engineering and pharmacy courses based on merit wherein 60% weightage will be given to marks scored in four semesters and 40% to GUJCET percentile marks.

The GUJCET eligibility criteria states that students who have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognised board/institution can appear for the test. They need to secure a minimum of 45 per cent marks to apply for the GUJCET 2018 exam (40 per cent marks for reserved category candidates). The exam pattern consists of only multiple-choice questions will be asked in the exam. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
