CBSE board exams 2018: 10 things to look for in your admit card

22 February, 2018: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 10 and 12 Board Examination 2018 from March 5, 2018. The CBSE Board has already distributed the admit cards to the government and private institutions for the students. The students can download admit cards online or collect it from their schools.

Candidates from private school who are going to appear for the 2018 Board examination can download their admit card from the official website of CBSE. For regular students, the admit card will be made available for them in their schools.

The Board has issued important instructions for all the students appearing in the 2018 CBSE Board Examination ahead of the examination. All the instruction are available on the admit cards. The students are advised to save the soft copy of their admit card and also take a printout/photocopy on the actual day of the exam.

Important information given in your CBSE Class 10th, 12th Board Examination 2018 Admit Cards:
  • Roll Number: Students are advised to check their roll number and confirm it with school authorities to ensure that the roll number hasn’t been repeated for any other student. Carefully check your Roll Number mentioned in the Admit Card and in the event of an anomaly, bring to the notice of the board.
  • Date of Birth: Carefully check your Date of birth. The date of birth mentioned in the Class 10 Admit Card is very important as the same date of birth is going to appear on the mark sheet and leaving certificate, all important documents for the future. For CBSE Board Class 12 students, the date of birth field would be empty.
  • Centre Number: Exam Centre number will help you locate your examination centre. You can also use the Examination locator app launched by the CBSE Board to find your centre.
  • Photograph: Your admit card will also have your photo attached and attested on it. According to instructions from the CBSE Board, admit cards without a photograph are inadmissible and students will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  • Personal Information: The CBSE Admit card will contain personal details such as mother's name, father's name, school's name and category (if applicable). Students are advised to check all these information to ensure it is correct.
  • Exam Dates: The admit card also has date sheet of the subjects. Check that all the paper codes, dates and subjects.
  • Exam Time: The start and end time of the examination is printed on the admit card. Students are advised to check the duration of each exam so that they can manage their time accordingly.
  • Your Signature: The signatures of the students on their respective admit cards determine each candidate’s autonomy. All the regular and private candidates are required to sign their admit card.
  • Principal's Signature and stamp: The students carrying admit cards without the stamp and the signature of the Principal will not be allowed inside the examination hall. So make sure your admit card has this.
  • Instructions: Apart from the aforementioned parameters, the students are also required to read all the instructions given on the Admit Card.
