CBSE board exams 2017 for class 10 students & class 12 students begin today

**09th March 2017**: More than 19.85 lakh CBSE class X & XII students will appear for their board exams that begin today, 9 Mar, 2017 across India, the Gulf and other countries.

While there are 8,86,506 class 10 CBSE students who would be sitting for the board based exams that begin today, 9 March, 2017 and end on 10 April, 2017, there will another 7,81,463 class 10th students who would be appearing for the school based exams that begin only by 15 March, 2017. There has been an increase of 15.73% in the number of CBSE class 10 students registered for the board based exams as compared to last year's numbers. Out of the 8.86 lakh class 10 students, 5,15,891 are boys while 3,70,615 are girls. There are 4275 class X students appearing for the CBSE class 10 boards 2017 under the "differently abled" category.

Similarly, there are 10,98,891 class 12 CBSE students who would be sitting for the CBSE class 12th exams that begin today, 9 March, 2017 and end on 29 April, 2017. There has been an increase of 2.82% in the number of CBSE class 12 students registered for the board exams as compared to last year's numbers. Out of the 10.98 lakh class 12 students, 10,98,891 are boys while 4,60,026 are girls. There are 2497 class XII students appearing for the CBSE class 12 boards 2017 under the "differently abled" category.

The Maharashtra Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams that began this week on 28 February, 2017 with the English paper (01), will go on till 25 March, 2017.

While there are 16,363 CBSE schools participating in the class 10 board exams with 3976 exam centres, there are 10,678 schools participating in the class 12 board exams with 3502 exam centres. There are also 63 class 10 exam centres in the Gulf and 7 exam centres in other countries while class 12 students have 58 exam centres in the Gulf and 6 more in other countries.
